ROFL, AA! That cracked me up!
I was hoping to see a statement from Phil or Craig, absolutely denouncing the rumor.
But I'm pretty much in line with the author, especially with this bit:
USB-C is vastly superior to all other forms of USB, and it comes as no surprise that it’s taken over the finicky microUSB and less-versatile USB 3.1 ports on phones and PCs.
I honestly don't see any real advantage of USB-C on the iPhone. The 'one less cable' argument is pretty paltry, as far as I'm concerned. I've found the Lightning connector to fit and wear very well.
A bonus for me is how easy it is to connect in low light, darkness without looking, compared to USB-C.
I prefer USB-C over Type A connectors, though using it with cheap cables can be problematic. Benson Leung may have helped spur Amazon to get rid of bad cables (those that lack the 56K current limiting resistor).
