Flash does not work in Chrome

if I use Chrome, I see a logo to go and install Flash from Adobe.

if I use Microsoft edge, I get a prompt if I want to allow Flash to run. if I do, then I can see the flash animation just fine.

Why does Chrome refuse to play this and sends me to Adobe instead?

option-click the green lock to the left of the web address at the top of your browser window, go to the settings at the bottom of the list that should pop up and see if flash is allowed

Chrome uses a some sort of verified version of flash (probably so you don't get tricked into installing malware via an update flash request) and if it hasn't been updated in the recent update it isn't going to work
But it does have to be enabled in settings
Default is allow but if you turned it off/block ...

Flash for Chrome is included in its download and installation, you do not have to download Flash from Adobe. As billb mentions, you have to enable it. It can be enabled only for specific websites, or in general. There is also supposed to be an "ask to use" option, but I forget where that is buried.

I generally just enable Flash for playing a few web games that are still implemented in Flash.

It's pretty infrequent for me (3-6 times per year), but I have seen it happen even if a site is specifically allowed in Chrome settings. My impression is it is caused by poor coding and/or being a really old version of flash.

Thanks, now it works. It was Ask (Default), I changed it to Allow and now it works.
