Today’s watch

1954 Elgin Dante. Finally found a decent dial. While I was replacing the old dial, I lumed the markers, polished the hands, lumed them as well, polished the case, and put it on a period bracelet with leather inserts.

I can count every single hair on your arm! Very cool watch. It's different than the others that have the little second hand at the bottom.

Not sure why the first photo is so large. I have it at 600x800 on my website.

I always have an urge to watch "Breakfast at Tiffany's" when Grumpyguy's watch threads come up.

Is that an automatic watch? So cool! Just picked up a Hamilton (1951) pocket watch and a Burlington railroad grade 23 jewel pocket watch (1920’s I think). Both in great shape. I’ll try to post here if I can remember how.

It was the first time Elgin used a Swiss movement in their watches. It is a 17 jewel automatic. It is actually a precursor to modern ETA movements.
