I am thinking about an Apple Watch, but the $500 pricepoint has me double-thinking.

My Pebble still works, though the software gets flakier with each OS update.

When they put a Mac Pro on a wristband, I'm in.

Skip the GPS version? Or try a Series 0 or 1?

Is there a big reason to buy a Xs or Xr over the previous X?

I'm most excited about iOS 12 and WatchOS 5, which were not released just yet...one more week. I am ready to have Waze in CarPlay as well as a few other features. Some of the new watch features in OS 5 are interesting, but I don't need the EKG or fall detection just yet.

As for the phone situation...the Xr is interesting to me because of the ability to do portrait mode. Right now my 7 is doing just fine and will roll along with that until it's not fine.

Not everyone here is a disgruntled former Apple lover... smiling smiley

i have a 6s+ and i'm interested in either a Xs or Xr.

three other family members have 6s and will also probably be looking closely at the newly released iphones.

thumbs up.

Speed, graphics, AR, and the Xs screen. Or Xs Max -- screen size.

Some of those things us old fogeys would never apprcieate.

If you are a die hard 6+/7+/8+ and the iPhone is your "everything" device (I know quite a few peeps like this) the new Xs Max has them ready to upgrade. 1" more screen and hour+ extra battery. They are in heaven. A few were thinking about Notes... but just dont like how andiriod works

Yes, I will be replacing my iPhone 5s, 32GB, and original battery with something newer. I haven't decided what that is going to be yet. The speed is fine on my phone. I don't run challenging apps, I'm not worried about the display, I don't play games on it. I just want a better camera, more storage, and a better battery.

With the free new battery in my 6s+ I figure it should be good for at least another two to three years and by then I will see if I can even afford a new one. At the rate they are going it will be pushing $1500 to $2000.

LOL. Maybe Im just out of it, but a new model every year seems... overkill?

6+ to 7+ to 8+ seems... meh.

6+ to Xs Max seems... not so meh =)

I have a 6s now and was hoping the SE would get a refresh (despite rumours contrary)
Oh well.

I'll just hang onto what I've got for now although the Xr does look nice.

Yeah, I want the largest screen since I have Old Eyes. Looks like $429 is the price point.

I could probably get a Series 1 to use for awhile. I’ll be thinking Fri.

Not at all.

Every year, there are always people who didn't get a 'Phone the previous year and are itching for a new one. Not to mention those who will 'lease' a 'Phone so they can have the latests, every year.

It's a choice. Choice is good.

I'll probably replace my SE with a next Gen 'Phone, and it'll be the backup.

I'm definitely getting an S4/LTE or two.

I'll stay with my SE, it does everything I need and fits easily in my pocket. With the little bit of use it gets, I'm not even sure if I really need a phone.

I'm using a 5 that I bought from a member here. My 5s went south a couple of months ago. My wife is using a Nexus 5x that has a history of bricking on Project Fi (although hers has been just fine). And we're travelling internationally a lot. Put all of that together and I'm going to wait until TMobile does a BOGO on the new phones and then get a couple and port over to the old-guy plan. I figure it's likely to be a Black Friday time frame.

I have no regrets buying my (slightly used) 8+ a month ago knowing full well this event was happening. I haven't delved too deeply into the new phones yet, but from what I'm seeing there's not that much that would entice me, especially since I'm a home-button fan.

Same with the watch. I regret not getting in on the Walmart $180 deal that was linked above, my Series 0 broke but I was wanting to see what the new watch offered. Oh well, such is life. I should have bought it knowing that there is a return window.

I pulled the trigger on a HomePod (from Target so I got my 5% off--Sorry I missed the brief price drop at Best Buy a few days ago. It was purportedly $250 on the 4th).

I'm in the Apple Upgrade Program so I'll definitely go to something in December when I'm eligible. Not so excited I'm going to pay extra to upgrade early, though. I need to learn more about the new models. I want to stay close to the X I have, 256 gb.

What I'm finally coming around to is the Apple Watch. I don't wear jewelry of any kind. But the ECG function has my attention. I'm old enough, overweight enough, and have a family history of heart disease. This has me curious. And enough friends swear by their watches that I'm at least interested.

I'm not convinced I need the cellular function, and the new models are very expensive.

I have only had my refurb 7 since end of March, so no plans to get anything else for a couple of years.

Now that I have repaired my 6 Plus for both "touch disease" and replaced the battery, it works fine. Give me a better reason that just being a new model.

I used to buy a new iPhone every other release. I am not seeing reason to do so now.

I’d like the latest and greatest. But my 6+ and version 0 iwatch are both working just fine. The phone was paid off a year ago. If I can get another year out of it that’d be great.

My 7 Plus is more phone than I need. So pretty much every phone Apple sells now would be even more overkill.

The Mac Pro is so old now that the Apple Watch is probably more powerful now.

My real and only complaint about the new line up is any upgrade means a physically bigger 'Phone.

Ok, their kit is getting more expensive, rather than solely offering more for the same price.

my 4 year old 6s is starting to act a we bit strange of late. freezes and such. battery life at 82%. only using half of its storage capacity. so that's given me permission to give a thought to maybe the Xr. my son has an X and i have been jealous of the screen real estate to hand size ratio.

My 4s on TracFone still gets the job done for me. Of course I primarily use it as a phone and music player, plus a few games. It's pretty pokey surfing the web, but I don't care since I seldom use it for that. I'm probably one of the very few people who actually reads a book on the light rail instead of monkeying around on Facebook etc. Oh, this is a 4s I bought used for $150 on Swappa a few years ago. 64 GB storage...

As I said in a previous thread, my parents each have an iPhone 5. I actually upgraded my Mom to my niece's old, unused 5S yesterday b/c her 5 is giving her so many problems. I may upgrade my 7 and my daughter's 6 with new models and then gift them. Depends on what type of promos AT&T or Costco offer.
