PDF Print Weirdness

Mavericks, both Brother printers on wired static IP thru same switch.
1. laser HL-5170DN [192.168.11.4]
2. inkjet MFC-J825DW [192.168.11.178]

The 'hiccup'; if the filename is complex ie: MyChart-09212018_wec.pdf.
it will never print (color nor BW) on the inkjet but OK on the laser.
Change the name to something simple like "appointment.pdf" & it prints fine in color or BW on the inkjet; still OK on the laser.
Bug in the MFC driver (Apple supplied)?
Go figure dunno smiley

does it happened with other files, like Word, Excel, etc.? also does it make a difference if you print from Adobe Acrobat Reader or from Preview?

space, only PDF files in Preview, AAR, or FF. Don't own M$ products so can't answer that part.
Thanks!

I wonder whether getting good prints after renaming the PDFs is just a coincidence.

MyChart PDFs can be oddly constructed and don't necessarily print properly two times in a row.

Initially, I exported PDFs and when exporting would do one page at a time into individual PDFs because single-page PDFs seemed to print more reliably.

Then I realized how stupid that was. Show the whole document in Safari and do a print to PDF and you have a "clean" PDF to print from. No more errors.
