If a medicine says 'Take with food" — What quantity of food?

A slice of bread, whole meal or something in between?

I have some pills that says to take with food but sometimes I forget. Just wondering what's safe.

400-600mb of motrin means I eat at least a snickers bar - 800mg only with a full meal

that's' just me - it depends entirely on the individual. I used to be able to do any med with a cracker at most, but after 45 or so, I've become more delicate.

a couple of crackers, anything as long as not on an empty stomach

you want to ease it into your system not blast your system - one symptom of overwhelming your system would be feeling nauseous

Just a glass of water might be enough but usually something to absorb and dilute the dose is recommended vs just diluting it.

I always wondered if I am supposed to take the meds while eating, or before or after eating, and would it make a difference. I finally decided that it didn't.

Enough to trigger the stomach acid the med needs to be absorbed, doesn't have to be much.

take with food means you put it in your dish when you eat, blend it all together. Or better put it in during cooking and share with all family.

A snack at minimum, a meal is better. Without either, tummy is likely to be uncomfortable.

I finally decided that it didn't.

It depends on the medication and the individual.

I had some problems with my ribs years ago and was prescribed codeine, with the bottle marked 'Take on an empty stomach'.

BIG mistake. It came up faster than it went down, and do not go gently. It turned out the bottle was mislabeled and was supposed to say 'Take with food' or similar.

It took several hours before I knew it must be the medication and not me.

Some of the longest hours of my life.

6.75 oz of carbohydrate, or 3.2 oz fat, or 5.5 oz protein.

If you want to combine, there's a formula you can plug into an Excel spreadsheet.

This.

I've been known to have a cast iron stomach, nothing really seems to bother it except for one supplement I take. Turmeric Curcumin will absolutely cause me stomach distress if I don't have some food with it. That said, I take them first thing in the morning and my belly is pretty much empty then.

Depends if it is supposed to help with stomach upset or with absorption. For absorption, some fat is helpful (studies on food effect are usually done with "high fat meal"). For upset, you would need to experiment.
