trying to increase iCloud storage - need clarity

Hi,

Happy Thanksgiving.

My young son is trying to increase the iCloud storage on his phone. It is actually my account, though I don't use iCloud. He's traveling and I told him to do the upgrade, and then he was hit with a screen asking for a password.

I can't attach an image here but I'm hoping somebody has done this before and knows if this is the iCloud password, Apple ID password, or what.

If it's the iCloud password I don't know what it is. if so, do I just go in and create one, or is there more to do?

Hoping for some clarity on this. Thanks.

I believe it’s your Apple ID and password. You might have to do 2 factor. Why don’t you just do it. If your son is logged in as you than he’ll have the upgraded storage.

why don't you log in into iCloud.com and increase storage from the free 5 GB to maybe 50 GB for $1/month

Thanks guys, I did exactly that. I appreciate the replies. Yeah, he'll wake up to 50 GB.

Funny thing I learned...the total storage is 50 gigs, it's not buying an additional 50. So, he now has 45 GB free.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving to all.
