FinderPop w/Sierra - diable SIP
Posted by: Fritz

I use to use FinderPop with Mavs.
I've updated one partition to Sierra, without disabling System Integrity Protection. I'm not quite sure what SIP is.

Is it time to leave FinderPop behind or is disabling SIP not that big a deal?

What is the problem with FinderPop? Can’t be installed, or can’t be used?

Not that hard to disable and later re-enable, just a bit time consuming.

SIP is a PITA -- had several little finder helpers that wont work now -- or at least the developers stopped working on them cause of SIP.

I have it turned off for Total Finder, which is essential to my workflow.

Some apps just need SIP turned off for installation. You can enable it again and have a functioning app. Guess not all of them, though.

Fritz,

I used to use FinderPop - loved it. I gave up and just put the FP folder in the Dock next to the Trash can.

It works almost as well that way, and I never have any OS compatibility or SIP problems. It is easy to add apps by just dragging the app there from the Finder.

" I gave up and just put the FP folder in the Dock next to the Trash can. " thanks. I'll give that a go if I can't turn SIP back on after install.
