MS is planning to redesign their 'Edge' browser building it off of the Chromium project from Google, which is the core of the Chrome browser. They're intending to release 'Edge' for Windows, Mac and maybe Linux.

This is kinda weird - why would anyone want to use it when there are so many good alternatives? It was different back with internet explorer. It was, for a time, the best browser on the mac, but then Safari came out and that was that. I would only use if I read multiple reviews from prominent mac news sources that all said, "umm guys, this thing is amazing - you HAVE to try it RIGHT NOW!"

If it works ~about as well as Firefox but looks better than if it had been done by somebody very new to graphic in general, I'd have it as a backup browser.

Right now, I use Firefox when Safari 9.1.3 won't correctly render a site (BestBuy, for example).

Safari is my primary browser, fast and great looking. Firefox looks like it was done by iCab devs, not a good thing.

So I'd at least consider this new browser overlord.

Yeah, IE5.

That's when I quit using Netscape.
