I haven’t watched any of the Superman movies due to Henry Cavill creeping me out. Something about him is unsettling and I can’t put my finger on it.

I have been trying unsuccessfully for three months, periodically, to upgrade my Hackintosh to Mojave. Every single day I click the alert box to ask me to upgrade tomorrow. In retaliation for this complication I have been using my $250 Chromebook a lot instead.

I have never watched a second of The Sopranos.
I have never watched a second of The Wire.

HC is not bad in other roles.

It's the combination of Zack Snyder with... anyone. Turns up the creep-factor a hundred-fold.

The combination was suitable for Watchmen because Watchmen was meant to be unsettling. But Snyder wasn't made for mainstream super heroes.

He's turned me off of the DC movies and I'm pretty sure that there are thousands of other regular movie-goers who have opted out from the DC cinematic universe because of him.

90 minutes for a superhero movie? Good luck with that.
120 minimum, sometimes leaning to more like 150 minutes.
They have to be EPIC.

So... clearly my confession is that I HAVE watched many of these movies.
In this crowd, that feels like the more daring confession.

I never made it more than a couple of minutes into any episode of "The Office." I was working at a big, bureaucratic company when it was on the air, and turning on that show was like being back at work.

Could it be that he has a way of looking at people that comes off as a cold, appraising, unblinking stare, not unlike what you'd get from a big cat behind the bars at a zoo?

• I kind of like Boy George's music

I'm generally ambivalent to his music now as I was when it was popular, but a couple of Boy George/Culture Club songs are the soundtracks to very fond memories of my youth.

• I really like Slim Whitman

As do I. I thought it was hilarious that Slim Whitman's recording of "Indian Love Call" caused the Martian's heads to explode in Mars Attacks.

• I've never watched "The Wizard of Oz" or "Gone With the Wind"

In my opinion, Gone With the Wind is spectacularly beautifully filmed melodramatic dreck, rife with insulting Southern stereotypes. I'm sure others, some Southerners included, hold a different opinion of the film.

The Wizard of Oz, on the other hand, is worth watching just to see what could be achieved 80 years ago using the most primitive of practical special effects if for no other reason. The musical numbers truly aren't bad either, "If I Were King of the Forest" being my personal favorite.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

You’re not alone.

I (think) I’ve seen most of the superhero movies, and liked almost all of the ones I’ve seen.

A superhero movie would probably be included in my top ten favorite movies (Okay, maybe top 25).

Ewww. Ewww to ketchup on a hot dog, too. Deli/spicy brown mustard and coleslaw or sauerkraut on a hot dog, preferably Hebrew National.

I'm a big fan of the Marvel universe super hero movies, less so of DC.

Also a fan of action adventure movies, a la Mission Impossible, Bourne, etc.

Having lived in France, I sometimes eat french fries with mayonaise (but not usually).

If I find a good science fiction book I tend to stay up WAY too late reading it.

I like to cook, and like to clean up. But when I cook for others in the family, I do expect them to clean up. (But I clean up as I go, so it's really just the stuff food was in when served that needs cleaning.)

I keep way too much paper (bills, receipts, etc.) and don't have a good system for filing it.

If I had a vehicle with remote start, I'd warm it until the interior was toasty, before entering, at least a dozen times a year.

And Michael Keaton was the Best Batman. Burton lead the charge to be the worst director.

Loved Love Actually and any romantic comedy with Sandra Bullock kryptonite to me.

Conversely, I love Kryptonite and use it with chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream.

Vanilla orange and 50-50-bars are Kryptonite.

I feel like this could be a natural progression as our ignorance-denial mechanisms start to falter as we get older. People can be scary and gross. Large groups of them can magnify that awareness into something worth avoiding.

I've never watched "The Wizard of Oz"

Revisiting an earlier topic, if the thought of watching "The Wizard of Oz" in its original form is a bit too much for you, great period special effects or not, for a more distinctly surreal experience try putting on "The Wizard of Oz", muting the sound, and playing Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" instead. The urban legend about the album tracks aligning perfectly with and oddly suiting the scenes in the film is absolutely true.
