Good News ! Brain MRI
Posted by: cbelt3
Date: February 11, 2019 12:46PM
When I got my brain MRI this morning, they didn't call for a helicopter right away. So that's good.

AND I learned that the metal in my right arm is Titanium, not stainless steel.

That's right... my scrap value went UP !

Actual discussion with the Neurologist is next week.

(Problems have been worsening post Traumatic brain injury symptoms..)

Glad to hear your brain is where it's supposed to be! Hope that you have a good consult with the neuro - TBI is often a rollercoaster. Thanks for letting us know how things are going. Thinking good thoughts!

Glad to hear about your brain (not all of us have one, or at least not a functional model), but how did the brain MRI tell you what's in your arm?

Well, if it had been steel, the MRI machine would have tried to either rip it out of his arm, or heat it up to where he'd definitely notice... So I'm sure they wanted to check that out before they ran him through the machine. :-)

Congratulations on the good news! I've had several brain MRIs (study participant). Amazingly loud. I guess I'm OK (they didn't revoke my Intertel membership smiling smiley ). Also one CAT scan before oral surgery.

May your health reports always be good! boink smiley

I prefer titanium over steel, and got it without requesting the higher-cost option.

Yippee.

I though you were selling yourself short with all that stainless steel talk. You are worthy of titanium!

It's nice to know such things. I'm still not certain how they reattached the circle of my skull that they cut out for my tumor surgery, but after 16+ MRIs it's not been a problem.

Good luck with your consultation tomorrow. When I had a brain scan 24 yrs ago after head trauma from getting clobbered in a car accident, my mom announced: "I always knew you had a couple of screws loose. I guess this confirms it".
