Best $7.00's I spent all week... And I only ate 1/2 so I can have it tomorrow... $3.50 for lunch isn't too bad...

Oh man... lucky you. If I want to have that for lunch, I'll have to make it myself. One of the downfalls of living in a small town, not much diversity in the restaurant choices. I'm staying in and reheating some soup I made last night.

Pad thai at Saladang's in Pasadena -- divine. :-)

RIP, Greg the DogSitter. You are missed.

Agree, with or without a meat? I prefer pork but it's all good.

Now, now there!
Pad Thai is not hard to make at all. Grab a recipe from the 'net and do it!
Chicken or tofu kinds are especially good. Instead of chopped peanuts, I like it with chopped almonds on top. Or-- in season-- chopped fresh basil, lots of it.

I miss BROOKLYN SOOOOO MUCH. There was a place that delivered PAD THAI, the absolute best (with shrimp) at 1 am for $7. Here in NJ it's like at least $15 and mediocre at that.

The local Thai restaraunt, Exotic Thai, in Newbury Park makes Pad Thai with both chicken and shrimp, and they'll flavor it mild, medium, or spicy (my wife loves it spicy). They have an option of including egg also, which we pass on. Love those flat noodles!

We try and have it at least twice a month, sometimes more, usually ordering it with Tom Yum @#$%& soup (hot & sour chicken & mushrooms), and Yum Yai salad (lettuce & tomato, fresh cucumber, mint & parsley leaves, chicken, shrimp, with sweet & sour dressing). All that for less than $20, and the portions are generous.

Makes me want to go get a snack...
