Single-user mode Saved by hackintosh bacon

So App Store wouldn't let me download the Sierra installer to my hackintosh as the smbios was set to 3,3. Got the brilliant dumb idea
to use MultiBeast and create a new file as a 5,1. Worked but reboot caused massive failure. Luckily I made a copy of the original smbios.plist.
Reboot into Single-user and using a few Unix commands got it back to original working state!
Did get the Sierra installer on my 'real' Mac Pro however.

Tip for Terminal on a Mac: to enter filenames containing spaces no special
characters are needed. Just put the filename in " ".
ie: cp -i "my file.xxx" myfile.xxx (Just have to remember that one.)

Make a boot-able clone of your boot drive, including the EFI partition.

When you have a problem with the normal boot EFI, enter the Bios during boot-up and select the backup drive as the boot device. The backup drive EFI will be used to boot and you can then select either drive at the Clover screen.

To clone the EFI partition, I use EFI Mounter to mount the boot and backup partitions on the desktop and just drag the contents from boot to backup.
