Drafting software advice needed...

We got both AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Rhino, but they are overkill for doing shop drawings.
We are looking something simple, not requiring the skill set needed for simple drafting.

I've been using Canvas for that when I'm doing woodworking, etc.

Sketchup. It is capable of making measured accurate drawings. Check for videos on that.

FreeCAD for 3D and DraftSight for 2D. Both are free.

Draftsight is my go-to for 2d drafting. It has to be updated and re-registered a couple times a year, sort of a hassle, but excellent SW.
