Probably best to let me log into your Amazon account so I can try it out here. smiley-music039

(but have never seen that message Safari 12.1.1 on Sierra 10.12.6)

Just showed my mom-in-law yesterday that she didn't need anything additional to play videos via her Prime account via Amazon.com, so I'm not sure what might be going on.

Make it a good day today.

MrBig,

Just tried Amazon Prime Video in Safari under High Sierra. It's version 12.1 (13607.1.40.1.5). No problems playing videos. Updated to the newest flavor just released by Apple yesterday. No problems.

I get the following "HDCP Error":

"This video can't play on your device as it doesn't meet content protection standards. All of your displays and cables must be HDCP compliant. Try disconnecting video devices from your computer, including secondary monitors and TVs, refresh the page and try again. See our troubleshooting tips for more information. If this problem continues, please contact Amazon Customer Service at www.amazon.com/video/contactus and refer to error 7279."

Because I have a HDMI to DVI adapter connected to an external monitor on my MBP. Once I disconnect the cables from the MBP then it plays fine on the laptop screen. Such BS.

What plugins do you have in Safari?

I had an HDCP error a few months ago on my 3rd generation AppleTV - where Netflix would not stream. I had to power off both the AppleTV and the TV and after power up, both worked fine.

It's not that a plug-in is missing; it's that one of your plug-ins is interfering.

I wish. I only had one extension loaded, and deleted that. Still, no joy.

Try a private window. Or a new/guest user account.

I have that problem with both Amazon and Netflix and only thru Safari when playing to my TV via HDMI.

The solution: Use Firefox.

Did you restart Safari and/or your Mac?

I dislike Firefox but it works were Mavs and its aged Safari doesn't, on more and more sites.

I can't stream or download HD content from AMZ because my 'computer is not compatible' or something similar. So it's SD only. I think it's an HDCP issue with my 2012 mini and ACD LED monitor.

Even so, I can still stream, barely, with my sad throughput.
