Apologies to pRICE cUBE if required.
Not a major destructive hit but a beer truck was involved!
Good thing the Miller Lite Tractor-Trailer had a loud airhorn too.

Looks like th driver with the load of beer was intending to go through as well. Saved only by the truck in front stopping.

Just a little owie... Watching that Miller Lite truck pretend he wasn't about to have done the same thing was fun, though.

Something tells me there will be some explaining to do when that driver returns the rental truck.

It looks like the bobtail realized he wasn't going to make it or had doubts. He slowed quite a bit before contact. The truck rental maybe might not even notice the damage.

I enjoy poking fun at these as much as the next guy, but ignorance is at least forgivable. On the other hand, the asshat who ran the light and swerved around him at :49 is much more deserving of ridicule and a hefty fine.

I wonder how cheap one could buy a beater box truck in the area. One taller than 11'8". #15secondsoffame

Maybe. I'm just thinking it'd be a fun challenge to see if one could get the whole top off. It would also be fun to see if one can not trigger the lights but still make contact.

I'd like to see the guy post just one video of a rig screeching quickly to a stop before entering the intersection as a driver realizes what the lights mean, avoids a collision, and makes a right turn.

Certainly a lot of rigs make the approach and turn, but one doesn't know if the driver was warned by others, knew about it somehow, has seen the website, etc.

I'd just like to see an example of somebody paying some attention - 'Oh, what's this then...' and not slamming into.

The Miller driver probably couldn't see the signs or the lights due to the truck in front of him. Though, you would think that would be a local route driver and he would be well aware of the bridge.

I still think that since they have the ability to tell when a truck is over height they should program the lights to not give a green and show a right turn arrow only.

Why isn't there a Waze for truckers where they can punch in the vehicle height and it gives them appropriate routes?

There are low bridge guides which have existed for the 50 years since I first started driving truck. Every truck stop carried them and every trucker had one in order to plot the most efficient route back before interstates were common. Most of the roof toppers are rentals driven by amateurs or else stupid local truckers who should know better and wouldn’t benefit from any resource.
