Hi folks,

I'm looking for a mouse with at least 4 programmable buttons that works with Mojave. I use this with Pro Tools audio software. Any picks? Thanks!

MX Master (not the 2S) if you can deal with Logitech… kinda have to take the good with the bad on that one, but it's 40% off on Amazon right now.

Thank you! Are you using this? I ask because my current Logitech doesn't work well under Mojave. I called tech support and the work around is booting with the mouse disconnected.

my Logitech m705 has been working fine under Mojave. Nary an issue since I purchased about 3 years ago.

Slightly related, I had a Performance MX for a while but the connection was always flaky so I had to stop using it. Wonderful ergonomics though, too bad.

G703 is a "gaming" mouse -- but has a more normal shape vs MX

but I have found gaming mice to work better than most basic ones. My razers were among the best I ever used. Ive got a brand new one in a box if I ever figure out how to get rid of my carpal tunnel

No way on the MX. You will need a ambidex mouse.

Im still partial to gaming mice.

Thanks, JDC. Is the G703 you mentioned ambidextrous?

That 502 looks good, AND I appreciate the fact that it is wired. Have you tired it with Mojave?

I'm low on ports and don't want to have to get another hub.

made my recommendation before the left hand thing.

G703 is not. Nor is the G502. Lots of basic logitech mice are "ambidex", but only have buttons for right thumb.

If you want a mouse with extra buttons for your thumb, you will prob need a left hand mouse or a true ambidex mouse, like the 310 I posted above -- identical on both sides.

This is the mouse I used for years, also an abimdex mouse, but spendy. Worth every penny IMHO.

or this razer: [www.amazon.com]

Im not sure why Mojave would make a difference.

It works pretty well with Mojave, but I'm not the super-user that I was many years ago. There was a minor scrolling issue, that seems to have been fixed, and my only mini-gripe (micro-gripe?) is that sometimes when MBP wakes and/or gets restarted, the tracking resets to its lowest setting, and I have to toggle thru my tracking settings to get back to the desired setting. I don't know why it doesn't reset to my default, or if the sleep/wake/restart thing is simply making it toggle thru the settings (I have a flashlight like that), but when it happens, it's just a matter of hitting my toggle button... if/when I get around to it, I'm gonna set another button to set tracking to my default. OTOH, I can go for several days without incurring this issue, and am not sure about the actual cause, but in general it's pretty darn good. Logitech's techs have mostly agreed w/ supposition that it may be an issue with the system not immediately recognizing the software and/or mouse quickly/entirely. I haven't tried it extensively w/ other Macs, but I use a trackball w/ the desktops.

I ended up going for a Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition. I found one on eBay for $28 and free returns (nice to know if it doesn't work well).

I appreciate all the replies and hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Give us an update after you use it.

My Razer Diamondback was the best mouse I ever used, period. And we had plenty.

Stupid carpal tunnel. angry villagers smiley Now I use an apple trackpad.

Unfortunately this mouse needs to be plugged into a direct USB port or hub (not my apple keyboard). I don't have any free ports.... Now I need to decide if I want to purchase another hub
