Got in a 3 mile run and one upper body workout. Sugar intake was dismally high.

Gotta lay off the Double Gulps after the runs... wink smiley

Two long sessions of yardwork. The neighbor's apple tree is trying to kill itself by making thousands of unripe tiny apples. At least 600 lbs of golf ball size apples so far, it's about half done. A few this week they are almost ripe enough to eat.

Rain and long work hours kept me off the street last week. Only got out for a jog 3 days and then cumulatively only about 10 miles.

Kept up my diet and managed not to gain any weight. This is a small triumph.

...Going to break my diet this week and eat some bread. BK "Impossible Whopper" is on my to-do list.

2.8 mi/day— 2 days of good exercise instead of 5. Getting the kids ready for back-to-school and being a general lazy-*** doesn't help.

Our dear sweet Shepherd mix Greta had to have emergency surgery (torsion / stomach and spleen flipped), then passed away four days later...on my birthday. So much for a "good prognosis." confused smiley

So in the midst of all that, I missed a good week+ of workouts.

This past Saturday was my first solid (read: good workout, longer distance) bike ride since Aug 1. About 40 miles. Fast pace.

Gave up soda almost 100%, even diet. Can't stand diet now. Tastes like chemicals. Will have cane sugar soda every now and then, about 6 a year so that ain't gonna kill me. Gotta keep living! Wife is also mostly off soda, at home anyway. If this is something you're trying to do, I can recommend these flavored sparkling waters, the ones with nothing other than the natural fruit flavors added. They're easily available now (Costco for me), and I think taste better than soda. May take a few weeks to train your taste buds off the sugar / sweet hit from soda. Plain ol' water and a lemon/lime twist is also just fine with me.

Lost about 8 lbs since January. Sugar is always toughest. Wife is a fine-chocolate fiend, has converted me. Need to watch the choco-coconut almond intake! Have worked out a new system that involves leaving package hard to get to in cabinet after dispensing 3-4 pieces. Helps.

The weight is the same but I just restarted a few weeks ago. Did over 320 kms of cycling last week. Taking a rest day today.

Oh, just planning on losing about 3 kgs or so.

Sad for your loss of Greta. Tough go.

320 kms is a lot!

I get all the sugar I need from a cup of Kirkland ruby red grapefruit pieces.

I never thought I'd ever like grapefruit, but the Kirkland stuff is delicious.
