Weaponize your kitchen. Will Alexa call the fire department when you say the wrong thing and ignite the house?

WORKS WITH ALEXA
Control this product with your voice through select Alexa devices.

Now it’s easier to defrost vegetables, make popcorn, cook potatoes, and reheat rice. With an Echo device (not included), quick-cook voice presets and a simplified keypad let you just ask Alexa to start microwaving.
Automatically reorder popcorn when you run low and save 10% on popcorn orders—enabled by Amazon Dash Replenishment technology
Compact size saves counter space, plus 10 power levels, a kitchen timer, a child lock, and a turntable.
Alexa is always getting smarter and adding new presets.

An Echo device (not included) is required to use the voice control features and quick-cook voice presets.

AmazonBasics Microwave simplifies cooking by letting you microwave using your voice and an Echo device. Just say, “Alexa, reheat one cup of coffee,” and Alexa will start reheating with the appropriate power and time settings. Quick-cook presets mean there’s no need to guess cook times or heat levels when you’re defrosting vegetables or microwaving a potato. Plus, Alexa is always getting smarter and adding new presets.

How about a battery powered one. When it arrives, it unpacks itself and pops a pre-installed packet of popcorn.

Go back into your houses, you old fogeys! We are not on your lawn.

This is truly and totally frivolous, but it's also not likely ANY added expense to the microwave - the SOC boards you need for the timer/push buttons is no more expensive to run the Echo software. Maybe the only added hardware is a microphone.

If it works as a mainstream Echo, that's a great addition to a modern kitchen - I think 90% of our use of home voice assistants are in our central kitchen area in the Great Room.

My wife is disabled, and so it bothers me when people complaIn about stuff like this, or gadgets that help people put on socks or whatever. We had to buy a new microwave, and add a strap to the handle so she can open it, and it had to have large buttons that were easy for her to press, because of her hand weakness and tremors. And there's other folks with vision disabilities.

They're not using assistive devices because they're lazy. It's the opposite.

I bet if I broke Ollie's legs, he'd appreciate a sock-assist device.
