The African version...
Old gazelle to younger gazelle, "So mister young stud, can you outrun a cheetah?"
Young gazelle replies, "Hell No, but I can outrun you grandpa!"

Even that fat, he can close on you from 50' faster than most can unholster a Magnum pistol and get off a shot. And that shot had better be a good one.

Washington has a few pockets of Grizzlies in the N Cascades, and I am getting a 10mm pistol to carry when we go camping/rock collecting in the back woods. 18" shotgun with slugs are better.

Anyone remember when the first Monsters Inc movie hit, and Pixar had mastered that muscles rippling under the fur? The highlights shifting on the fur? You see that on a grizzly close-up, you better douse yourself with BBQ sauce to get it over with that much faster.

No grizz around these parts, but we do have a strong population of black bears. I saw a huge one cross the road in front of my truck a few years ago galloping along waaaaay faster than a normal person could run.

I want to say he was around 300 lbs. but I don't think black bears get that big.
