Nicolas Cage - wth??

Nick is BUSY these days. Anyone notice?

He doesn't have the best rep these days, but his early films (a few: Valley Girl, Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club, Peggy Sue Got Married, Raising Arizona, Moonstruck, Wild at Heart, Red Rock West, Leaving Las Vegas, and later, Adaptation) is enough to get into the Hollywood Hall of Fame (if there was such a thing).

Like many super successful leading men, he made one or two (sometimes three) movies a year while he was at the peek of his stardom. But in the last few years, he has been cranking them out. 22 in the last 4 years. Five in 2019. Six in 2018. Six in 2017. Five in 2016.

I don't know anything about him - I wonder why he is working so damned much. That can't be fun. He CAN'T need the money - at least I hope not.

Hope he's having fun and not feeding a gambling habit.

[edit - I can't add]

.......IRS.......he owes a lot of tax money.....and overspent [ like Johnny Depp ].....he bought castles, dinosaur bones, comic books, etc.......so he has been working constantly to pay back.....

....same goes for Bruce Willis, no tax issues, but he is making so many direct to DVD movies.......often times he is in the movie 5 seconds but they bill it as 'starring' and they are really bad movies.......

How Nicolas Cage once blew his entire $150 million fortune

I just assumed that it wasn't possible to spend THAT much money

For what it's worth, Celebrity Net Worth says he's worth 25 million.

........guess he and Bruce Willis are just taking the money and running at this point.......

I've been to his winery in Cali. These days, that's either a corporate thing, or a way for a person to blow a ton of cash on a vanity project.

That's pretty impressive. You'd think that he's either won the lottery or that he's a boxer to be able to burn through money like that.

I occasionally see a movie with Cage as a lead, and think 'I've never heard of that', and wonder if it's straight to DVD.

None the less, I've always liked the guy, and even if one his after-peak movies is considered schlock, I usually find them entertaining.

I hope he works because he likes to, even if he doesn't get A-list roles.

It would be a shame if he's indentured to debt.

I have seen a better version of Friends, but I can't find it at the moment. Done properly, Ross looks even more like Ross.

Cusack has destroyed his career via his Twitter account. Just one of the brilliant talents to come out of the 80's and beyond.

Nick Cage spent a long time being best friends with Crispin Glover.

I loved the move "Racing with the Moon" with Nick, Sean Penn and Elizabeth Glover which was beautifully filmed by cinematographer John Bailey on the North California coast, directed by Richard Benjamin

“What kind of pie is that?”
“Brown pie.”

Great flick...
