1st World Rant: Roku (old) WiFi Madness!

WiFi (WRT3200ACM) works great all over house. TV, Apple devices, Printer, even
old ATV2 in bedroom; no problems.

But, tried two different Roku's in the BR and no go. A MHL Stick and an LT (2700X)
will not connect correctly. 3-4 bars signal and even with no security activated neither
will connect properly. Yet, the old Apple TV2 connects instantly.
Tried several of the fixit hacks found on YouTube, no luck banghead smiley

wtf, are these Roku's just so old they've shuffled off their mortal coil and joined the choir invisible?

Do you have any special characters in the SSID or in password? Someone here had an issue with ~ or a similar character, apparently there are 2 of these very similarly looking, on different “pages” of the keyboard layout.

Also did you reboot the router?

I wonder if the WiFi band is an issue. 2.4Ghz vs. 5Ghz. My Gen3 Ecobee thermostat could only connect to 2.4 which was not made clear at all during setup.

s-t, no special characters. All lower case & numerals. Even w/o security it's "broke".
mikebw, occurs on either band. Router LED display shows the band being used
and the setup page shows the Roku's as being "connected".

My own wild@$$ theory is the Roku firmwares are just obsolete & can't handle
modern WiFi??
I might go to wallys & get the $29 Roku Premiere 4K just to see if it works.
EZ returns, so it's not like I'll lose $$.
