AIO Comparo: HP MFP M428FDW vs. Brother MFC-5850DW... What do y'all like?

Saving up for BF purchase, looking for full feature B&W AIO laser.

These two seem to be the leading contenders;
HP MFP M428FDW and the Brother MFC-5850DW. Similar features and specs, but the usual HP better print quality, and Brother way cheaper for consumables. Current prices are eerily similar after available discounts and coupon codes.

Which one get the recommendation in today's environment?
It will be replacing a Brother MFC-8860DN from Costco, circa 2007. FWIW, we also have a Canon B&W laser, printer only, that does our high quality printing, when needed, which is probably less than 5% of total pages (cost per page is like 4-5X of the Brother). New AIO will be for lots of scanning, a bit of copying, and all general printing. Still have need for legal size flatbed scanning, hence larger AIO units being considered, and duplex everything needed, too.

Let your prose on the pros and cons flow, on either, or both.
Thanks.

They seem really expensive? Or you could get color for about the same cost? Of course, if you dont need color...

Leagal scanning is pretty standard -- well, maybe not flatbed, but sheetfed shouldnt be an issue...

In the grand scheme of things, these are probably so close would be hard to choose a clear winner. Like an Accord vs Camry. Or Ford vs Chevy vs RAM trucks.
