Computer game you've been playing for years?

Is there a computer game you've been playing for years?

I have two favorites:
Plants vs. Zombies - been playing for 12 years. First on the computer and for the past few years on an iPad. iZombie and Vasebreaker are my favorite levels, though I regularly play many levels of the game. I got a new record high of 20 completed levels on iZombie (was stuck at 17 for a few years) and my current record on Vasebreaker is 26 levels.

Defense Grid 2 is my other favorite game. I play this thru Steam on my gaming PC, and have completed about 150 levels (most are fan created from DG2FreeMaps and have played for 1240 hours. I played it's predecessor Defense Grid 1 for 670 hours. Both are great tower defense games.

What are your favorite games?

plain old Battleship and solitaire. Others may come and go, but the classics are always there for an uninvolved diversion.

Eric's Ultimate Solitaire
Bejeweled
Adobe Flash updates

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp on iPad turned 2 years this month.

Otherwise no Steam or Minecraft on computer. I play those on dedicated game stations.

On my computer? Cookie Jam/Candy Crush.
I've been trying for years, however, to find a game I could sink my teeth into. I've tried Pokemon Go on my iPhone, World of Warcraft on my desktop, Fortnite on my laptop, Zelda (and others) on my Nintendo 3DS, and even Plants vs Zombies on our PS4. I always felt like the controls were too complicated, unlike Pac-Man on my Atari! Nothing clicked.
That is, until I met Assassin's Creed:Odyssey. I've been playing for a couple of months now and am loving it. Obsessed even. I don't know how or why it suddenly connected with me; it just does. It's given me confidence to believe that I'll be able to pick up on other similar games in the future. Before Odyssey, I thought l'd never catch on.

Different version of Candy Crush since about 2010. Solitaire and Minefield off and on since I got hired as a PC lab tech in 1994.

I must have close to 3,000 hours in Fallout 3 between the base game, official expansions and dozens of mods. Another 6,000 for Elder Scrolls and other Fallout games.

Age of Empires II...nearly 20 years.

Still can't get it working properly on an emulator (e.g. Parallels, VMWare) though.

Have to keep around Macs that can boot 10.6.

(the Mac version...on the PC version controls are too different to switch)

Epyx Rogue
Maniac (an inspired combo of Pacman and hangman, with great music in the background)

Both date back to the 680x0 days, and Rogue won’t work on anything newer than an SE, which is why I’ll probably never part with my Mac Plus. Besides, combined with my student loan, the Mac won’t be paid off for another 20 years or so.

My wife played a lot of Gubble on her Mac in the late nineties (released in 1998), and has been playing on her iPad the past 2 years. Gubble for the iPad costs $2.99

Use to be addicted to Mine Sweeper on Windows. Had to give it up when my mouse hand began to hurt! LOL

In recent years on iPad and iPhone, enjoy playing Zynga Poker app.

Solitaire 'Till Dawn

Pocket Tanks Deluxe (with all current add on weapons)

Jigsaws Galore

And finally, I'll fire up the 'ol TI Book and play me some Warcraft II, one of my all time favorites. Seriously, I was so hooked on this one! I used to play online EVERY SINGLE DAY! I even gave the disc to my brother once so I wouldn't play it so often. (I asked for it back a few weeks later). No more online play with that one, but dang, I STILL enjoy it occasionally.

On the computer, no. On my iPhone: Boggle. New version sucks, so my phone is still on iOS 10 so I can play it.
