Foregoing my rant of more reasons to hate Sierra...

...at least compared to how Mavs worked for me, I've noticed something that should be fixable.

On occasion, if not sure of a spelling of a word, a highlight > right click > Look up would give me a dictionary response. Great.

Now in Sierra, I get a Wikipedia response. Not great.

But I do have the options of App Store, Maps, Web Videos, and Movies, depending on the word selected. Even less great.

How do I get back to getting a basic dictionary result, and not this other crap.

Safari > Preferences > Search... Disable Safari Suggestions.

You should also disable suggestions in Spotlight pref's. Two places, a checkbox at the bottom of the window and within the scrollable list.

If you look along the bottom edge of the lookup window, you will see a number of options:

- Dictionary
- Wikipedia
- Movies
- App Store
- Maps

Simply select "Dictionary" and it will become the default.

It is what it is.

I wonder if you have tried cmd-ctrl-d while having the pointer over a word.
When you let go, a quick dictionary contextual menu comes up, with dictionary and thesaurus.
Also, highlight >right click gives a menu that begins with "lookup" if a word is correctly spelled, but if it's not, it will begin with alternate/correct spellings.

Fun fact: with a trackpad, I do highlight >right click with dblClick+2fingerClick... I'm being silly here.
