I clicked on a Blue Cheer song on YT last night because I've heard of them, but never heard their music. I'm good now...

I have a friend who played with Tiny Tim. He had hair just like Tim's and was supposedly the only guy Tim ever had sitting beside him on stage. My friend played old-timey banjo and knew all the old songs in Tim's repertory.

That’s quite a lineup, but what’s with Tiny Tim and Sonny & Cher??

Man oh MAN!! How I would have LOVED to be able to attend that show. Look at all those classic bands!

Too bad I was only 10 at the time. No way Mom would let me go to a show like that. sad smiley

And that was back when it took forever for each band to set up.

Did they misspell "The Byrds" or was that Ronnie Wood's old group "The Birds"??

It appears to be a misspelling. The Wiki page breaks it all down very nicely. [en.wikipedia.org]

Steppenwolf caught my eye. One word, not two.

A friend went to a concert many years ago where the main act was introduced as "The Creams". facepalm

I met Tiny Tim back in 1985 outside Avon Park, FL. He was performing with a one-ring circus and was trying to convince me that it was the greatest gig he ever had, music at its vaudeville roots. The man had gotten married on The Tonight Show, I wasn't buying his line.

Still, he was a really interesting and well-versed man.

The year before I met Bo Diddly when he played a surprise gig in Hawthorne, FL (where he lived). Great guy, a whole lot of fun. Then later that year I met Chubby Checker at a county fair in Winter Haven, FL. Unlike the other two, he was rather pretentious and full of himself.

Interesting times those were.
