Amazon/UPS return -- what the heck?!

Before Christmas I bought a pair of shoes on Amazon that I didn't like so I needed to return them via UPS (their provided label) to Indianapolis, IN...

12/25/2019 2:24 P.M. -- Label Created
12/26/2019 11:06 A.M. -- Shipped - Xxxxxxx, MI
12/26/2019 6:56 P.M. -- Origin Scan - Xxxxxxx, MI
12/26/2019 9:07 P.M. -- Departure Scan - Xxxxxxx, MI
12/26/2019 11:36 P.M. -- Arrival Scan - Maumee, OH
12/27/2019 7:20 A.M. -- Departure Scan - Maumee, OH
12/27/2019 11:04 A.M. -- Arrival Scan - Plainfield, IN
12/27/2019 3:35 P.M. -- Departure Scan - Plainfield, IN
12/27/2019 4:06 P.M. -- Arrival Scan - Indianapolis, IN
12/28/2019 1:35 A.M. -- Departure Scan - Indianapolis, IN
12/28/2019 2:03 A.M. -- Arrival Scan - Plainfield, IN

It continues to show as "In Transit". According to Google Indianapolis, IN is approximately 19miles from Plainfield, IN. Amazon issued a refund shortly after it was scanned at the drop off here in Michigan. Amazon is also still showing it as "In Transit". What is going on here? Do I need to be concerned about it?

I wouldn't worry about it. Once you hand it off to UPS, it's their problem.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to check in here and see if anyone knew anything different.
