I imagine Apple is going to fix things so the MBP isn't 50% faster than the Mac Pro in those one or two lone benchmarks.

I'm not sure how that would happen. If we are talking about the same thing, the difference is due to better performance of Final Cut over Premiere. Adobe will have to update their software to take better advantage of the latest hardware.

It was third party program. I will look for it and post when I get some time. It's not unusual for this to happen when Apple releases brand new hardware.
