What is your wall wort (power pack) solution?

Next to my iMac I have nine devices with their individual wall wort (as I call them) and it's annoying and ugly. Near my desk I have another ten. I use a lot of power strips (with only 1 power supply per two plugs due to shape), extension cords etc and it's just ugly. What can I do to tame this mess?

These are the culprits

This sort of thing is good because when you plug a wall wart into one of the outlets, the others are not blocked.

19 devices and you need more... smiley-shocked003

Sounds like a great time to considering a declutter or consolidation... =)

I'd say that step 1 is to get rid of some devices. I'm sure that I don't have 19 wall warts in my entire house. What on earth do you need all of those for? Simplify your life, Grasshopper.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I got half a dozen 3 outlet extension cords with 1 foot cords from the dollar store. I can get 2 wall warts per extension. They aren't clustered together so they cool pretty well. Since these are like 50watts or less per wart, not concerned about the dollar store quality. They do have the canadian UL tag, but not the US. And the short extensions go into a big surge protector power strip.

I wish I could find something like that, maybe 3' with an outlet every 2-3 inches. They are usually spaced 6-9" apart.

I hate those Doc Ock splitters.

Ugly, cumbersome, bulky. I've got two because they were on great sale, but I want to replace them.

I can get rid of a couple of devices, but I use everything I plug in.

Those short PC cords are nice, but I've not nothing that uses them, close to an outlet or power strip.

I like that Stanley strip, but it's a wasted of space without at least double the outlets.

Most power strips don't allow for big AC adapters, and many have the slots parallel to the length of the strip so even skinny AC adapters can only be used on the end.

This Belkin is my favorite power 'strip' by far, with 12 outlets and eight of them suitable for the biggest AC adapters:

I have enough plugs and devices to make Fire Marshal Bill blanch and should do some organization.

But there's not much to prune.

Some, but not much.

Are they all (or mostly all) 5V?

Could you consolidate some of these with a multiport USB supply?

One UPS* for cMP, TM dock, & Monitors.
One UPS* for router, modem, switch, & Obi VoIP
One smaller UPS* for everything else w/ a few 1ft 'liberator' ext. cords.
