Apparently us Boomers fell for Groundhog Day and millenials ate up Cool Ranch...

We skipped the Super Bowl in favor of the full Groundhog Day.

Groundhog Day ad was ok as nostalgia, but utterly failed to do anything interesting.

Cool Ranch was fun!

Smaht Pahk was the most re-watchable.

Didn't see the rest...

Groundhog Day commercial was funny but it didn’t make me want to buy the vehicle.

I liked "World Before Alexa" or whatever the real title was. That one actually makes you think about the product.
Google's "Loretta" hit me in the feels.
I missed a number of them as I was multi-tasking with a game while watching.

When seeing some of these ads at a party, you only absorb so much due to noise and reduced attention level. But it is interesting to view them in a group setting.

Not sure how many people will remember it was for Rocket Mortgage, but this got a good response at our party:

I can't think of a product in the adds that I would have liked to own or use, in the first place.

Doritos Cool Ranch aren't bad. I've had them on and off over the years, and it's the only flavor I buy.

Maybe I'll buy the 'Dance version, now that I know they exist. Maybe.

I did not sign up for Mint mobile, but I need to check it out.

I think the amazingness of SB ads peaked many years ago.

Must be tougher for the ad agencies to get good help these days.

It seems to me like many of the commercials were about packing in as much as they could. Many times I was so confused as to what was going on that I had no idea what product they were selling.

hey - don't forget - that Groundhog Day commercial - that's OWC Hometown Woodstock... OWC used to be located - back when this was filmed - just two blocks off the square where that was shot. Gets extra points from us for that. smiling smiley

Scanning through those ads, it is a 9/10 on the failure scale for getting me to remember what they were about.

The National Review carried a comment today saying that the half time show was so decadent they would have sent children from the room - I'm sure they would have if they'd been able to peel themselves away from watching long enough to do so.

I thought the best ad was for Cheetohs (Can't touch this).

Didn't watch the halftime show, other than walking through the room at one point. I absolutely CANNOT STAND "synchronized" backup dancers. I blame Michael and Janet Jackson for inflicting that upon us. I didn't watch the "wardrobe malfunction" either for precisely the same reason.

I don't agree, though most of the ads were well below previous years.

That half-time show was way over-produced and the content so chopped up, it just wasn't enjoyable for me.

100% agree.

My favorite "commercial" was the lead-in piece showing the young kid "taking it to the house" - I liked the piece in and of itself and thought it was a clever lead-in to the game.

It is what it is.
