PASSword plus?!.......Disney annual pass price just went up......

......higher tier prices.......

....On non-peak days, a one-day, one-park ticket will remain at the standard $104 price, but on weekends or holidays, which are typically busier days for the parks, patrons will have to pay up to 5 percent more with prices ranging from $114 to $154.

Park-hopper tickets, on the other hand, will cost up to $209. These passes allow guests to visit both Disneyland Park and the neighboring California Adventure Park. For multiday tickets, prices will range from $235 for a two-day pass to $415 for a five-day pass.......

Disneyland Just Increased Ticket Prices and People Are Furious

.....The happiest place on Earth just got a little less happy for everyone's wallet. Disneyland recently increased the prices of most of its tickets and annual passes, and released a new five-tier pricing system that changes the prices of tickets based on peak days and seasons. During the highest peak times — largely holidays and Saturdays — a single day park hopper pass, which gets you into both the Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, is now a whopping $209. This is the first time a single-day ticket to the Anaheim theme park has ever surpassed the $200 mark.

The good news is that during off-peak times, the price of a park hopper pass is as low as $159. And thankfully one-day tickets for admission into a single park are still available for a significantly cheaper price, ranging anywhere from $104 to $154, depending on the day.

According to Fox, the new pricing system is meant to keep the park from getting too busy on peak days by encouraging attendance on off-peak days with lower prices.

This is the second recent price hike by Disney. Just last year, ticket prices were raised as much as 7% right before the park opened its $1-billion Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expansion, the Los Angeles Times reported. And the year before that, there were increases of up to 18% on certain tickets.

It seems that Disney-goers are starting to get fed up with the park's continuing increases, and took to Twitter to share their frustrations after the recent announcement was made.

But despite these increases and subsequent outrage, the LA Times reports that attendance at Disneyland has still been growing steadily. And with an all new Marvel-themed land inside California Adventure Park set to open this summer, guests can likely expect even more price increases in the future.

Up.................and up.....................per...........?!

If it only worked like that, sure.

People plan for a long time out and go when they can.

Or on their birthday weekend.

Price is irrelvant.

If an annual pass was $209, everyone would buy one. That's a ONE day park hopper pass (Disneyland and California Adventure).

Cheapest Annual is $419 for SoCal residents.
No admission on weekends, holidays, summer, etc.

Price is irrelevant for most. And most will go on the weekend because... work.
My wife took the day off during the week to take my daughter. She would never go on the weekend.
After her visit to both parks my wife said, the amount of adults going without children is ridiculous.

and this really only effects single day purchasers.

My youngest wants to go for her birthday this year -- and we will prob go 2 days. When you buy any multi day ticket, day restrictions are tossed out. 2 day park hopper tickets for 4 peeps will be $1160, or $145 day -- and again, any day.

The big "once every 5 years" trip to Disney, where you maybe take 4-5 days at the parks (but I dont know why, 2 days seems plenty) -- 4 hopper days with 4 peeps is under $100 a day. $1580. 5 days is $1660.

So the cost and day restrictions for "family trips" is meh.

DisneyWorld just raised their prices as well. It's a pain, but when you live here and go more than a few times a year, it's still a deal. My son and I have a "Silver" level pass, which is the cheapest level you can get that includes free parking. Parking is up to $25, so that's a big deal. We do have blackout periods, but it's during times we wouldn't want to go anyway: Spring Break, most of the summer, and Xmas week. That's when it's either ridiculously crowded, or it's so frickin' hot outside, you don't want to go. We also get discounts at many food places, and at retail places in the parks. Having the pass means we can go during less crowded times, or just go for a few hours.

Wife has the higher level pass that includes free pictures, and no blackouts. I think there are other benefits, but I can't remember what they are. I think she gets a higher discount on food/retail.

Lo those many years ago, a SoCial Resident Disneyland Premium Annual Pass *with parking* was $179 after AAA discount. The Mouse started getting cranky leading up to the park's 50th Anniversary in 2005, when they started jacking prices, segregating parking from the Premium passes, requiring doctor's notes for all handicapped people regardless of how obvious their handicaps are, stopped allowing handicapped people's families to escort the handicapped person to/on the rides. There were all sorts of cottage industries thru about 2004. People would rent gimps so their party could cut lines. Annual Passholders would buy discount multi-day passes and lease them out on a daily basis to make a pretty good living from the side hustle. Same thing with leasing the parking on passes.

While the side hustles were definitely wrong, Disney's treatment of their most loyal, rules abiding customers has gotten worse and worse since the park's golden anniversary. Screw the loyal locals, and pound the destination seekers as hard as possible. If pro sports can do it, so can Disney.

Per everything, it only takes a few (or one) person to ruin it for everyone else...

We had passes for a few years. Luckily as the prices and restrictions increased, the kids became bored with DLand. Magic Mountain was a lot more fun and a hell of a lot cheaper.

First time I went to Disney World it was $5.50 for admission and 10 ride coupons (that is less than $30 adjusted for inflation). I haven't been back since 2003. The last time I went to EPCOT was in 1987. Not much has changed Disney since then besides prices.

Haven't been since I went as a kid back when they had ticket books...with the two "E-tickets."

No plans on ever visiting again.

We took the American Family Hajj to Disneyworld ten years ago. We told them, this it, kids, the one time we take you. Enjoy! It was expensive, but we had a blast. The place is top-notch for an amusement park.

We had one of those books on how to conquer the parks efficiently, avoiding lines especially. Worked beautifully.

We took our own snacks to save a ton on food. Because all the rides accommodate backpacks right in the seating, we could haul lots of goodies, didn't have to worry about security for our gear. Granola bars while standing in line for the win!

DL is my youngest daughters fav place ever. (wife loves it too) -- we have been 10 times in the last 5 years.

Its a 5 hour car ride, stay away from weekends & holidays, get in early, bring food & water. And we stay with family. So the only real cost is tickets. Sometimes a hat, sometimes ears.

Im meh to the whole thing, growing up 20 minutes away and having a friend with season passes back when they didnt check, been dozens of times. Kinda old. Havent been since Star Wars opened, so at least 2 new rides to try. But reviews are meh, so meh.

I went to Disneyland about 40yrs ago, and had a good time though standing in line was near intolerable.

Had I been there with family instead of friends, it would have been intolerable. LOL

That was then.

I can't begin to imagine what crowds are like now.

I'm not crowdstraphobic, but I don't like them (hate them, really) mainly because people can be so inconsiderate, and it only gets worse in big crowds.

I don't don't that I'd get the same fun for the buck these days, but if it weren't for all the ancillary costs (and did I mention I hate crowds) even for today's prices, I might go one last time.

They were talking on the radio Tuesday about them digging up an original advertisement from Disney back in 1955. Ticket price for an adult was $1. And factor in inflation, in today's prices it would be under $10.

So, what has made a Disney Park 2000% better?

My first time in, in 1978 or so, they still had the ride tickets. What a pain that was. Old school, too, even then, as other big parks like King's Dominion or Cedar Point didn't have them even then.
