No, Costco removes the internal organs before cooking the chickens, so no heart in there.

For $16.99 you can get her a dozen roses at Costco. Or if you wait until after Valentines day they'll go back to their 2-dozen for $17.99 pricing.

So, that would be a heartless gift?

My wife would probably prefer the chicken to the flowers. She used to grow her own roses... well, I was the one who did all the work keeping them alive and blooming. But when we moved 15 years ago, she didn't say anything about getting new ones so we don't have roses.

......I won't send roses
Or hold the door
I won't remember
Which dress you wore

My heart is too much in control
The lack of romance in my soul
Will turn you gray, kid
So stay away, kid

Forget my shoulder
When you're in need
Forgetting birthdays
Is guaranteed

And should I love you
You would be the last to know
I won't send roses
And roses suit you so........

I’m off to the drugstore to peruse their ridiculously overpriced cards.

Is there a Dollar Tree in the neighborhood? They sell brand-names cards for $.50-1.00. I bought 2 for my dear wife because she's worth it!

PSA: Stay away from the DeBeers controlled jewelry chain stores.

If you must buy bling, patronize your local independent jeweler.

Was very proud of myself that I remembered I had to get a card today. Went to Target and found (only) one that had anything near the sentiment I would like. Grabbed it off the rack, and as I went to slide it in the envelope I noticed the price. $8.99. For a card. And it wasn't even a fancy card. It went back in the rack and I'll wish my lovely wife a happy Valentine's Day and tell her she can have an extra drink with dinner with the money I saved by NOT getting that card.

Most of the card's I send out come from the dollar store where I get 2 for $1. For special occasions like my anniversary or valentines I do go for the overpriced grocery store card. I agree with Wurm, it's hard to get one with just the right sentiment. Valentine's day I'm having a dozen overpriced roses delivered to her work and we will dine at the country club. No presents and no crowds.

For my two daughters I have smaller flower arrangements ready and grocery store cards. Right now neither have boyfriends so I wanted them to get something. Question for the fathers, when (if any) is the right time to stop giving valentine's flowers to the daughters? When they have a boyfriend or when they get married?

Never stop, regardless of boyfriend/husband [or girlfriend/wife] situation. Daughters are too special.

Could be Feb 20, 2030. Might be a little dried out by then.

The date of course, is Feb 30, 2020.

But if it got pushed to the back of my fridge, it might be there on Feb 20, 2030.
