Password reset question for an idiot.

Asking for a friend, as they say! LOL!
A few months ago, I started using LastPass password manager.
My son got it all set up and running and I like it.
However, one site that I haven't ventured to for a long time, Xfinity, never had
the password info entered, so when I couldn't remember my log in password, I clicked
on the I Forgot Password link. Issue here was then I clicked wrong or it wasn't an option, don't know,
but Xfinity made me reset, NOT recover the old password. Now I can't get my Comcast email.
How do I tell my laptop and iPhone to change the password to match?
Air running Catalina and iPhone up to date at 13.3

Thanks, never was good at this stuff.

Dave

Sounds like you need to set the password in Mail app on your laptop and phone.

You might check the Keychain app on your Mac to see if it has the password recorded for your Comcast email account, and if so you should be able to get it to display it (what your password was before you reset it).

Then the easiest thing might be to just log into Comcast's website and change your password there back to what it used to be.

Although this might be problematic if Comcast wants to do some sort of verification via Email in order to allow a password change.

you can go and use the web interface for Comcast email if you really have to allow a password change.

but the easiest solution is to go to mail app and update password there.

Thanks forumites!
I managed to get my laptop to accept mail, but the iPhone is being stubborn.
I'll keep trying later after the Daytona race is over.

Pretty sure that's SOP now. Reset if you forget.
