How to destroy a $1400 smartphone

Interesting video in which “JerryRigEverything” slowly destroys the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold (with it’s “folding glass screen”).

tl/dr version: it’s not glass, and “has no scratch resistance whatsoever” - (a fingernail will do the trick).

As the guy says, destroying flagship phones is an expensive hobby, but he finds it interesting.

It's not a hobby, it's a business, and a profitable one.

I bet it's especially so if it's a Apple product that's killed.

But it doesn't surprise me the screen of a folding phone could be easily damaged.

Now that prompts the question of how would any of the flexible screen protectors hold up against that 'test', and if so, why didn't Samsung do something similar.

It probably wouldn't take constant flexing, is my guess.

That's not a durability test. He would have to use the phone normally while adding typical "mishaps" like drops etc. His voice sound robotic.

That's a pretty badass phone!

Indeed.

I hope it starts a trend, though I doubt Apple would make something similar any time soon.
