John Mulaney is my favorite comedian at the moment

He hosted SNL last week and it reminded me about hearing some of his bits on the SiriusXM Netflix is a Joke channel.

NSFW due to some language.

(On this first link, this the best I could find because it has the whole bit and the others stop a little early. Note that this link uses Mulaney's bit as an intro for some blather about college so stop after about 6:15.)

I've been in more of a Mitch Hedberg, Patton Oswalt mood lately.

But I'll tune in for Mike Burbiglia and Jim Gaffigan.

The Horse in the Hospital bit is a classic.

I first found him via my son, who put him on via YouTube in the car one time; his Salt & Pepper Diner bit. Laughed our heads off. Ages later, started watched Mulaney in various bits; his first appearance on SNL, etc., without realizing/remembering he was the guy who did the Salt & Pepper Diner bit.

Him telling Fallon about his turn as the voice of Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham (in the Into The Spider-Verse movie) is great as well: [youtu.be]

Great all-around comedian: great writer, great stand-up, great characters.

Will ditto a love for Mitch Hedberg & Patton Oswalt as Sarcany said above. (First Mitch joke I heard that roped me in; "Rice; I love rice. Rice is great when you're starving and you want to eat two thousand of something.") Ditto John Pinetta. ("Free Willy!")

The (family friendly?) comedy station on SiriusXM was great & how I "discovered" a lot of these guys; one of the only things I really miss about XM.

(BTW, it's spelled < y'all >.)

There was a line of 20-year olds camped out along 6th Avenue last week in lawn chairs and sleeping bags for stand-by tickets to SNL.

I vaguely remember his TV series Mulaney, so I checked Wikipedia for other stuff I've seen him in.

Oddly, other than the above, there's not one show there I remember seeing him in, and some shows I've never heard of.

Yet has face is as familiar to me as a Roosevelt dime.

I have no idea why he's so familiar, give the circumstances.

Filed and forgotten.

My mom confuses him with Demetri Martin.

I like it when the snl skits are complete nonsense. The absurdity of that show is what made it funny in the first place.
