Not exactly true. Latest is that you still need to file by the 15th but if you owe, you have until July 15th to pay.

This is helpful for me until I can get home to my W-2s and 1099s.

No need to run the Coronavirus gauntlet now!

No, that just changed.

"We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15," Secretary Steven Mnuchin tweeted. "All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties."

This year I filed in January and got my refund in 10 days. I could have procrastinated as usual.

Works great for me; I procrastinated a bit and was doing a heavy prep but work has upticked drastically in the last week (I prep submittals/forms for engineers/architects/surveyors/geotechs) as municipalities are pushing to get qualifications in as things shut down for a while.

I both see and do not see the logic in it, but it is what it is.

My issue is that SEP/IRA contributions for TY2019 must still be made by April 15 unless that specifically changes too. None of the banks around me have lobby hours - drive through only. Not sure how to deal with this. I called the bank where one of the SEPs is located and they weren't sure about how to handle this. I asked if we could do it all via fax and the answer was no.

great for me. We've been having issues with my sister who was the executrix of our father's estate (she's also a CPA) and we keep asking her what forms we need to file and she's been putting us off for months.

What about state income tax? Line NYS. Does anyone know if that has been postponed?

Just completed mine yesterday. Between the increased standard deduction and me quitting work as an independent contractor, it was much simpler this year. Only an inherited IRA to stop us from using the easiest form. $41 back is just about right...

That was yesterday !!!!!!!!!

This is today:

‘ The income tax filing date has been pushed back from April 15, to July 15, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.

Mnuchin announced the decision in a tweet Friday saying that at President Donald Trump’s direction “we are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties.”
At a White House briefing, Trump said the delay on filing and paying taxes until July 15 was done to give taxpayers more time and “hopefully by that time, people will be getting back to their lives.” ‘

Try to keep up!!!!!
