AirPods issue

My son can't get his 1st gen AirPods to connect to his iPhone anymore. We followed the reset instructions by holding the button on the back of the case, but they never go into pairing mode. Case and AirPods are charged, contacts on both are clean, etc. We even held the button in for well over 30 seconds.

Are there any other tricks that might resolve the issue?

Check to connect to a Mac to be sure it’s not the iPhone?

Reboot the iPhone?

I can't get them to go into pairing mode. So, I can I pair them to a Mac?

Phone has already been rebooted.

If they arent borked, any device with BT should connect.

Did you delete them from the phone and try to re add as brand new? Different than a reboot of the phone.

Have you tried resetting them?

Tried reseting them. Never got the flashing amber light. Deleted them from his phone as well.
