Wild, wild ONIONS ... couldn't drag me awayEEEE

Kid just yanked these from down by the creek. I don't wanna survive corona only to be done in by onions.

So what's the dealio here? They're not like green onions at the grocer. The leaves here are like grass. The bulbs are so small as to not really bother with.

But what else you got to look at today?

I find these backpacking all the time - saved my butt (a bit) when I ran outta food on a LONG trip. Made an onion broth that had to do for lunch and that was just enough extra food to bridge the gap.

If it looks like grass and smells like onions, its an onion.

Yummy. Wash 'em , skin 'em, eat em raw or stick them in a stew... Oniongrass is common around here, I'll pull them from the ground and eat them that way.

Kind of like scapes. Someone planted them in my yard before I got here. They sprout every year since.
