Everybody here needs to watch this COVID-19 video

It's not flashy, it's long and heavy on details, but it will keep you and your family safe. Please watch it.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

That was well worth watching..thanks for sharing.

He had a lot of good practical advice and it was fascinating seeing an ER doc on the front lines relating his experience and then giving advice based on that. Quite long, but very informative.

You can skip to 3:05 and not miss much.

4:40 is a good start point too, skipping all the introductions.

Good content. I think he underplays it a tiny bit, but it is a nice change from the over hype on most videos. Slightly comforting.

The basics I learned:

Covid-19 is in your community.

Three things to do to avoid the virus:

1. Become a hand nazi.
2. Don't touch your face when out and about.
3. Keep your distance from others.

I listened to the whole thing and glad for it! I usually bristle when someone says YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO, but everyone should watch this video. It's not scary - you come away feeling informed and confident.

Totally agree Vis...it's different hearing it directly from someone on the front lines.

Also, it's much more than just those summarized items. Those are things we already knew. He gives insight into the specifics of how they think it is being passed along. Don't read that list and skip the video just because you think that's all it covers.

It's a good video, the only thing I take issue with is his telling people not to use ibuprofen ... there is in fact no good data for this. [science.sciencemag.org]

factcheck.org additionally mentions a "fake WhatsApp" message originating from Germany as a root cause but I don't know if that's what Price is referencing here. My experience with hospitals is that they typically prescribe Tylenol over ibuprofen as a matter of course regardless.

My only other quibble with the video is based on this story about the choir in Washington, where it's believed the virus transmission was exacerbated by singing: [www.seattletimes.com]

All that said, much of the potential confusion and social media absolutism stems from tidbits of "truthiness" being communicated out of context, probably.
