Anyone not using direct deposit for their stimulus/tax relief check?

My tax refund checks go to my POB, so I did the same with this one, too.

I have no idea when the checks will be mailed out, or if they have already.

Several of you have received your checks already via direct deposit, so I'm wondering if anyone has received it via USPS.

I'm guessing that the paper checks haven't been mailed yet. Just yesterday one of our kids was able to enter their direct deposit info for the stimulus check. I wouldn't think they would allow that if they had already printed and mailed the check.

I agree.

Haven't rec'd. my direct deposit yet (SSA payment). My understanding is the
DD for us is based on our 'pay date', mine is the fourth Weds. of each month
so maybe I'll get mine soon.

I haven't had a tax refund this century, so they don't have my bank info. I tried to use the website, but it doesn't recognize my info from my 2019 return (I filed early thanks to having an identity thief).

Typical. IRS is efficient as hell when they want something from you, but turn the tables and they can't find their own ass with both hands and instructions.

Did you try using your 2018 info instead?

My mother got her paper check today. Why it didn't direct deposit is a mystery. They direct deposit her social security every month.

I just checked, and can enter all my info online -- so Im assuming my stimulus hasnt been calculated yet. (I couldnt do this last week)

Thankfully .... we dont need the money... so a paper check would be fine...

Maybe we should invest it. Although i want to just send it back to the IRS to pay last year.

That doesn't surprise me a bit.

Trying to get these out quickly, I imagine it's a little time consuming to do even a little research into the possibility that a citizen has a direct deposit with some other federal agency.

I suppose a routine could be written to automatically check and send if one is found.

I've also had direct deposit for my paycheck since the '70s and have always received my returns via USPS.

It is kind of nice seeing it in my hand, before spending investing or saving it.

But it made me laugh when people would respond to my suggestion to use direct deposit by saying 'Oh, no, I got to have the paper cuz somebody could screw with my account!!'

Yeah, ok.

I received mine via mail a few days ago. Also thought I would get direct deposit because my SS is that way.

I had tried getting the status from that IRS link posted above, but for the past couple of weeks, it was telling me that it couldn't provide any info about my payment. Just opened it again, and it asked for my info, so I've now provided it and the payment should now process.

I started a thread a week ago when this all started. previous thread

I'm glad (for me) to report that I had success tonight. On a fluke I decided to try again tonight (Fri). I entered my SSN, Address, etc just like before, but this time rather than getting the "cannot process" message, it took me to a page to enter my information. Since I paid before, it asked for my adjusted gross income for 2018, the amount I had to pay, then my banking info. I hit enter and got a message saying that I had successfully entered my bank info and should expect a direct deposit of my stimulus.

Same experience as celliot. Was able to go through the process and rather than the "Payment Status Not Available" it prompted me for my 2019 or 2018 tax info. I entered my 2018 data (AGI and amount paid) along with banking info and it accepted it.

Or you could turn it over to a local food bank, you don't need it they do!

I can't get it to recognize our information. I opened up a pdf of our 2018 taxes and used it to get the precise address and it didn't recognize it. I modified the address in the obvious ways (removed a period after S [for South]), and it still doesn't recognize it. Then I get locked out for 24 hours. I've done this daily for the last week. I'm sure the other info is correct. Oh, well--government at work!

I got a direct-deposit refund for 2018, so they should have had my bank info file. Checked the status of my payment on April 15th and it said they needed my bank info. I was (amazingly) able to enter all of the info right away, it confirmed I was eligible for the payment...and then bupkis.

Every day I log on, and every day it says the day for my payment hasn’t been scheduled yet. I don’t need the money soon, but if I did I’d be up the creek...

I have no reason to believe I will receive one anyway. My partner's dad was issued one. He died November 20th, 2013.
