Low water pressure in kitchen sink — Novice needs a little help

Yesterday I started losing pressure in my kitchen sink. Hot or cold, still low pressure. No pressure with the sprayer. Other faucets in the house are fine. I removed the aerator and still no pressure. It has the cartridges (I replaced one once before) but even if one was bad, shouldn't the other have pressure? - TIA

My faucet is similar to this style:

There's a good chance that the sprayer diverter is jammed or clogged. Usually this just stops the sprayer from working but sometimes it can get stuck halfway and affect everything. Here's a discussion of how to fix it: v[homeguides.sfgate.com]. There are also a number of youtube videos on this.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Thanks Davester, I won't be able to work on it until later today. Found a video that explains it well: YouTube

Edit: I just tried the sprayer again and the faucet pressure increased while the sprayer sprayed. Cleaning or replacing the sprayer diverter should be an easy fix. thumbs up

You just broke rule #1 of amateure plumbing.

You invoked the gremlins with the following phrase:

"Cleaning or replacing the sprayer diverter should be an easy fix."

Sadly, I must agree. This is like saying "I'm going to kick your ass!" to the skinny little guy in the bar who just happens to be wearing a black-colored belt.

From personal experience I must agree as well! I just hope any water damage, broken parts and/or personal injures are minimal. Never invoke the plumbing gremlins!

That's easy.
