is anyone interested in WaPo subscription for $19/year?
Posted by: space-time

I am about to renew my subscription, I could get 1 for $29 or 2 for $39 and share one with someone here.

So how about we split the $39 sub?

The Amazon WashPost is a terrible propaganda paper.
This thread should be on the political side.

Settle down, Buck. The Washington Times has a deal for $1 for the first 30 days of online access.

Already an online subscriber - would it give me another year when the current one expires?

I would jump on that, but I feel like it might go awry.

There is something to be said for sitting in a comfortable chair on the front porch on a balmy spring morning with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a newspaper in hand.

Admittedly an online edition has updated information not available in print, but at least for those of us who grew up with paper, that's not a bad way to spend a little time.

And get off my lawn!

That is your opinion. This thread is not about the content of the newspaper, it is about access. Stay open minded.

Or maybe, just maybe, your comment should be on the political side?

I'm in the same current-subscriber boat, until September. If you see any fine print in your offer that would make me eligible, feel free to PM me.

I subscribed a while ago after listening to a podcast that convinced me it was the only way to possibly get near to unbiased news. I just picked their site because it was easiest to navigate. With the connection to Amazon it was easier to pay and login. I also have an electronic subscription to my local paper.

I also have an online subscription, which is about to expire in a week. So I need to renew. But the rate is much higher, I think around $150 per year.

But I can have my wife send me a "gift"

Washington Post ought to pay people $19 a year to read it.

Agreed.

Back in the 70's when I was a kid in school, I delivered both the Washington Star, and the Washington Post. The Star was a good right of center paper, and the Post a good left of center paper.

Both papers kept their editorializing and spin where it belonged...in the opinion pages.

I wouldn't even call the Bezos Enquirer a real paper.

Conservatives had had a chip on their shoulder for the WaPo ever since they exposed Nixon.

Conservatives had had a chip on their shoulder for the WaPo ever since they exposed Nixon.

... and then realized they'd be offering up basically nothing to substantiate their opinion about it, then or since.
