The first thing I'm going to do when out of lockdown...

...is get a haircut.

I don't know how much longer this SIB is going to last, but I'm soooo tempted to take scissors to my hair.

It's just too freakin' long for my tasted.

The perimeter is trimmed so back is 'blocked' and around the ears is squared away.

But the top and back are soooo long.

Because of the dearth of actual barbers who can actually cut hair 'Ok, so you wanna fade?' I've gone to Super Cuts the last three times, and they are mediocre at best. And right now, mediocre is lookin' pretty good.

In the meantime, I'm tempted to cut my hair Super Cuts scissors style and let time heal the wounds.

I mean, how hard could it be?

Follow up question:

What could possibly go wrong.

That describes a friend of mine. His is long enough for a short ponytail.

I call that "girl's hair." Not to disparage, but because it simply lays flat on the head and cascades down naturally. Don't think I could ever do that if I tried. My hair is also straight but always begins to get poofy at the top and then fan out the sides, and I have what's considered "full head of hair." It does begin to reveal some waviness as it gets longer, so maybe that's the problem.

Basically, barber or no I've seldom liked my haircuts. I think they look OK/decent cut short (typical "business style" but for example my daughter says its wrong. Even my mom used to call me "a refugee" when I had my hair short.

I was like "Yeah I'll get a haircut next week" then suddenly everything was closed.

I had to cut my husband's hair last week. It went pretty well. I went back in for a touch up a day or so later, and it looks OK.
I think I might get better at it if I have to do this more than once.

As for my own hair, it is just going to get longer as I would never let hubby near my hair with scissors. grinning smiley

That would be me. I haven't touched my hair or beard in a year and a half, except to trim around my pie hole so I can eat easier.

It's a real mess right now and I can't STAND a few hairs that seem to want to brush against my face, irritating the hell out of me.

I may go back to the sandpaper scalp I was rocking before this freak flag thing.

My wife cuts my hair so the first thing I'm going to do is take her to our favorite Italian restaurant... Not a big fan of Billy Joel but this song seems appropriate:

Yep. I have a decent beard trimmer and I will be giving myself a buzz cut soon. I just have to decide which guard to use.

now looks like this...

That's my hair without the flip.

I've always worn it much shorter, but comb-able, since the military.

No 'high and tight' for me then or now, but always 4-0.

So that's a hard 'PASS!' on the buzz cut.

But scissoring off at least half the length is getting to be a stronger maybe.

Luckily my wife has been cutting my hair for about 25 years. Can't imagine having to find a barber that can do as well as she does.

Got mine cut the Friday before they closed so I won't be getting shaggy for at least another week.

Reminds me of AF Basic Training.
TI says, "How often do you need a haircut?

Class replied with the three weeks, four weeks, attempts at an answer. I knew it was a trick question but did not know that ...

The correct answer was ...

NEVER

a good Airman never needs a haircut. He (we were all guys back then) gets a haircut just before he needs one.
