Binge watching the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series

In order...Just wish I had better resolution DVDs (homemade)

It still holds up pretty well and Jeremy Brett is brilliant. Plan to binge watch The new Sherlock Holmes series after this with Benedict Cumberbatch.

Have read all the Conan Doyle Sherlock stories too and it wasn’t until almost the end of them could I figure out the ending before I got there. It took awhile to figure out his thought process.
Happiness is good writing.

Jeremy Brett was the best Holmes, IMHO. The series was done so much better than the awful movie versions with Basil Rathbone, in which Watson was an elderly buffoon.

The very last ones with Brett are not so good: he was ill, and it shows. He looks puffy and not fit enough to do Holmesian things.

I really hate that being such a goto trope.

Enjoy Jeremy Brett as Holmes but every weekend an old 'Rathbone' movie airs
locally and regardless of view count, I'll watch it.
Forget that it's lowres & grayscale, I enjoy the dialog.

Those episodes with Jeremy Brett are the best.
