Your theory may be right.

FiOS uses orange conduit.

Definitely conduit. It was probably placed long ago, however, and does not necessarily indicate Verizon/Frontier (depending on where you live) intends to populate it any time soon.

It is what it is.

I think it was placed in November.

.....get off......my lawn.....

Semi-off topic but...

When I was in Washington DC I experienced what might be the ultimate delusional example of that: The tour group I was with was walking on the sidewalk in front of some townhouses built very close to the street, basically curb, three feet of grass, three feet of sidewalk, three more feet of grass, and then houses. We stopped for a moment and kind of bunched up around the tour guide with a few of us inadvertently stepping on the grass as we did so and a guy inside one of the townhouses actually yelled at us "Hey! Get off my lawn!". Yes, those exact words.

Maybe I've been spoiled, but where I come from the term "lawn" implies an area larger than an average flower bed and something that can't be trimmed in under an hour using only mustache scissors.

Just thought I'd share that. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Doesn't answer the question, why were you walking on his patch of grass?

Not "walking on", stepped on for mere seconds. I get it, his teeny tiny patch of grass, his rules, but A. If you're going to own a house on a street with a lot of foot traffic, people WILL occasionally step on your grass and B. If you're that bothered by it, put up a fence. A six foot high wrought iron one with spear tips at the top would have complimented his home very nicely.

Might not have been his lawn. His property might start at the edge of his house. He has to take care of the lawn, though. I take care of the eight feet of lawn bordering my street even though it is part of the right-of-way.

In my town, its 10 feet easement from the street that I don't own. It's highway robbery, I tell ya.

They are putting 3 cables across crossings on a road near me . Stopped and asked why they said future proofing . Unless someone is breaking land use laws to put in a data center the future will be 30 years from now . Only 25k population in county .

I've been tempted to yell 'get off my lawn!' now that I own one but its hard to communicate that its meant as a joke.

Seems terribly American.

If your lawn can't take little foot traffic...

Walking the dog and the fellow living over the garage yells out The window “Stay off the effing lawn!“. I winced and walked on. We were on the sidewalk. My wife knew of the house and occupants and suggested the comeback. “We are not on your lawn! And how’s that living over your sisters garage working out for you?”

Yes, ouch.

But I really, really, literally laughed out loud – LLOLed!

And search your house to see if there's a life insurance policy you didn't know about.

A friend was in his garage with the door open and saw somebody from somewhere stopping to let their dog take a dump on his lawn and start to walk off.

My friend jacked him up and the guy didn't even have a bag with him for the occasion.

'I'll come back and take care of it'.

'No, here's a bag, you can do it now.'

Hasn't seen the guy again.

Some people.

Maybe he just over-seeded the lawn. Any walking on it, no matter how briefly, will disturb the germination.
Or maybe he just sprayed his lawn with pesticides and he was actually looking out for your health. angel smiley
