Charging up can be a hassle for a number of reasons. First, it takes up valuable time. Additionally, when it comes to using USB-C, it’s also a risk — if you trip over the cable, it could mean a crashing end for your phone or laptop.

The Evri Magnetic Tip USB-C Cable is, first and foremost, a powerful charging cable. It can channel 100 watts of power, so it will quickly charge MacBooks, notebooks, the Nintendo Switch, smartphones or tablets. It moves data at up to 480mbps, making it as fast for backups and transfers as it is for chargers.

Even better, it includes a MagSafe-style breakaway magnetic tip, so any connected device stays safe if you accidentally trip over the cable. And let’s be honest, that’s basically unavoidable.

Buy now: Get the Evri Magnetic Tip USB-C Cable for MacBook and USB-C Devices for $26.95. That’s 22% off the usual price.

These have been on the market for years, and they are so-so.

It's always interesting to see somebody else's turn at 'reinventing' any given wheel.

Maybe it'll be a better version.

I still wish Apple would have kept it.

I have a few of them. I prefer the right-angle adapters.

The key to picking a good one is to get one that has a minimum of 20 pins for 100w charging and 24 pins for Thunderbolt support. And don't expect even the best to pass Thunderbolt data at better than 50% of the max rate.

This is the one that I've been using on my work machine. The magnet could be a little stronger and it leaves a small chrome wedge sticking out of the side of the laptop, but it does charge at the maximum wattage of my charger and cable.

I bought several of these with lightning connectors for my iPhone. They have a habit of corroding certain pins and failing. Not sure I'd risk them on a laptop.
