8TB M.2 NVMe SSD!!!

Sabrent just announced an 8TB M.2 NVMe SSD drive! No pricing yet, but I'd guess it'll be in the $1500 -$2000 range.

I think the 4TB version is only 6 months old or so, and there's only a couple of other 4TB M.2 drives out there (OWC being a new one, and Samsung has a server oriented version). The 4TB version was $650 when it came out, but then jumped up to $850 and hasn't come down again. I had the 4TB version in my Late 2013 MBPr 15" with a Sintech adapter for the past 5 months, with no issues other than having to disable hibernation (which is needed for any NVMe drive on that era MacBook). [forums.macresource.com]

I finally got a decent price on a Mid 2015 MBRr 15" and swapped the 4TB drive into it this week. We'll see how this era does with NVMe drives and hibernation.

4TB for you! Overall cost of the system was probably half if you'd bought it from Apple. 2TB is my limit right now...

I have a 500gb Samsung 970 EVO in my 2015 13" MBP. Zero issues in the year that it's been in use.

I love that these larger drives are finally coming out. Unfortunate that the newer machines Mac SSD's are soldered in and can't be upgraded.

In for two!

Why so cheap? I hear the 10 packs have a good discount.
