Pic comparing 3 different MacBook Airs, including new 2020 MBA

Well this was interesting. I hadn't been paying attention to the changes in form sizes of MBAs until I purchased the new 2020 13" this week.

I'd always been a fan of the 11" MBA because I only used it for travel.

But after setting up the new 2020 13" MBA, I realized it didn't feel a lot bigger than my 2015 11-inch. Well, that's because it isn't! At least width-wise.

I've totally fallen in love with this thing. They keyboard is damn magical. Just smooth as silk. I'm going to be sell my 11 soon and upgrade to this beauty.

I've noticed the same, as I used to use an 11" Air and liked its portability.

Also interesting, MacBook Pro is identical exterior dimensions, except for wedge shape difference and only a few ounces heavier.

Thanks for posting that! my next MBA would be a 13inch then...I've had the 11's since they came out.

Had the same realization from this, when I realized my 11 was the same as the new 13 except less than an inch higher and 7 ounces heavier. I think I'll do what jdc suggested and go with the faster processor and 512 SSD.

Thanks! That's super useful as my carry around is an 11" 2011 MBAir which I love for the portability. When it croaks it will be a sad but 2020+ MBAir Leader! day.

I wish you could get the 13" MBP with the better 10th gen, 8/512 MB and 4 USB C ports for $1499... Id pay an extra 2 bills over the MBA for it. But not $1800.

MBA and MBP are nearly identrical in size and weight.

If the 2020 MBA was available in the same gold as my MB, I'd probably own one now.

As I don't like rose gold in anything, I'll wait for a 14" MBP or MBA, in Space Gray.

$1300 for an i5/16G/256G isn't bad at all,

$1500 for an i5/16G/512G feels like a lot, but I'd get over it.

$1800 for an i5/16G/512 13" MBP is more than I'm willing to pay.

My MB currently has 47G free space of 256G storage (Apple calls it 250.xG), with 8.75G purgeable.

This puts me at approximately 18% free space, which may be affecting my speed.

The 8G RAM definitely affects my speed.

So I'm waiting to see what a 14" MPR will run me in my possible CTOs.

The 11.6" was lighter (2.38 lbs vs. 2.8).
