I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the least bit apprehensive.

Hats off to those two!

When a good man is hurt,
all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.

There is no safety for honest men except
by believing all possible evil of evil men.

We don’t do focus groups. They just ensure that you don’t offend anyone, and produce bland inoffensive products. —Sir Jonathan Ive

Perfection is the enemy of progress. -Winston Churchill

-An armed society is a polite society.
And hope is a lousy defense.

You make me pull, I'll put you down.

Mister, that's a ten-gallon hat on a twenty-gallon head.

I *love* SIGs. It's Glocks I hate.

Having been there as a photographer for the early Shuttle launches, I am watching this with a great deal of nostalgia. I recall working with photographers at the launches who were there for the Launch of Alan Shephard (and at least one, Ralph Morse, who documented Ham, the first chimpanzee in space). I can still recall feeling the shock waves moving my clothing from three miles away - some the Falcon 9 can never emulate.

God's speed gentlemen.

(just a quick personal aside - I really don't like SpaceX crew suits. The helmets are cool, but the suit itself reminds me of a bad science fiction pajamas. They just lack the Astronaut business look that everything previously had.)

Exciting....

I worked on Shuttle Program since 1984 through the last mission. This is very exciting to watch!

Hopefully, weather cooperates.

Hey Skylane - We Overlapped. I covered 22 of the first 24 launches from STS-1 to STS-61 in January 1986 (the last launch before the Challenger disaster two weeks later

My wife and I flew down to see the last space shuttle landing. Was a funeral atmosphere. Glad to see things so upbeat by comparison, even though the weather did not work out today.

agree smiley

That was my first thought (the McKenzies) when I heard them mention "Bob & Doug"...a part of me thinks this was intentional on the part of someone at NASA.
