A remarkable depiction of the future from post-war France

A tweet reads: "When French Sci-fi Barjavel was asked to imagine the future just after world war 2 : he had it almost right"

and shows a video (French, no subs) of people staring into their handheld devices while walking all over town. It looks remarkably familiar. When has Sci-fi gotten it THAT right?

and I loved the guy desperately using his iphone to set his watch to the correct time. Remember how many people were obsessed with having the correct time on their timepiece? The thought of using an iphone to set your watch to the correct time seems weird...

When Dad gave me his multi channel radio, I logged onto the Naval Observatory time signal about once a week to set my watch. Then I could coordinate the clocks in the house.
